Tasty 2-Step Pork Chops is a no-recipe recipe.  It's so simple, make it once and you can make it again and again, even on those days when you're on dinnertime auto-pilot!  Brown some pork chops, then stir in condensed cream of mushroom soup and water and simmer until done.  The soup melts into a creamy sauce that you can serve like gravy with the pork.  Once you're comfortable with the recipe, you can change it up to fit what you have in the pantry.  No pork?  Use chicken!  Rather use another flavor of condensed cream soup?  Good idea!  Want to substitute white wine for the water and add a spoonful of Dijon?  Sounds great!  This Tasty 2-Step Pork Chops recipe will help you to get dinner on the table fast!

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork chop, 1/2-inch thick (about 1 1/4 pounds)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) Campbell’s® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup or 98% Fat Free Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1/2 cup water

  • Tips

    • Try an easy garlic-seasoned version!  Add 1 clove garlic, minced, to the skillet with the pork chops.  Or, for a roasted garlic twist, you can substitute Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Mushroom with Roasted Garlic Soup for the Cream of Mushroom Soup and milk for the water.
    • You can substitute 1 1/2 pounds bone-in pork chops (1/2-inch thick) for the boneless pork chops.  Bone-in chops tend to take a bit longer to cook, so you may need to add a few minutes to the cook time.
  • Step 1

    Season the pork with salt and pepper.  Heat the oil in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat.  Add the pork and cook for 6 minutes or until browned on both sides (to prevent sticking, make sure the skillet and oil are hot before adding the pork).  Remove the pork from the skillet.

  • Step 2

    Stir the soup and water in the skillet and heat to a boil.  Return the pork to the skillet (and if the browned pork released any juices, add those too).  Reduce the heat to low.  Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the pork is done.  Season to taste.  Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving, if desired.
